Video in Tator follows the lifecycle shown here. Each point in the lifecycle is billed at a different rate, depending on quality tier.
UPLOAD
- Video is transcoded and added to project
- First month of storage included in rate
HOST
- Video is available for streaming, annotation or download
- All streaming and download optimized video is covered by hourly rate
ARCHIVE
- Video cannot be streamed but metadata is available
- Un-archiving is free if archived for at least 180 days
DELETE
- Video and metadata are removed from platform
- Can be reversed within 30 days in the case of accidental deletion

Pricing example 1: An account with the Scientific plan uploads and stores 50 hours of video. This is under the included 100 hours of video in the Scientific plan and is covered by $100/month.
Pricing example 2: An account with the Industrial plan uploads and stores 200 hours of video. The first 100 hours are covered by the industrial plan, which is $75/month. The next 100 hours costs 0.75/hour for the first month and 0.05/hour for subsequent months. The total plan cost is then $75 + $75=$150 for the first month, $75 + $5.50 = $80.50 for subsequent months.
Pricing example 3: An account on the Cinematic plan needs to upload 1000 hours of video and analyze it over the course of 3 months. After 3 months the video is archived. The first 100 hours are included in the Cinematic plan at $125/month. The next 900 hours cost $1.25/hour for the first month, then $0.55/month for the next two months. After the media is archived, the cost is $0.01/hour. The annual cost is then $125*12 + $1.25*900 + $0.55*900*2 + $0.01*900*9 = $3,696.
